Like most 2020 graduates, Megan's senior year was greatly impacted by coronavirus so, when her mom contacted me, it was important to all of us to give her a unique experience and capture this life milestone for her. We settled on Manassas Battlefield to comply with social distancing requirements (also one of my favorite locations for sessions!), and they had two specific requests. Megan wanted some photos with her dog and in her prom dress since prom was cancelled. Dogs - no problem! A prom dress in an open battlefield - I was a little nervous! I had visions of my own prom dress, which is pretty bold and tacky for 2020 fashion. Megan and her family - she brought her mom, dad, aunt, and dog - were a blast to hang out with and they brought so much energy and hype to our session. And the dress, wow was I wrong! Megan's dress was stunning. Check out highlights from her session!

Kelsey and Stephen invited me into their home in DC for Grace's newborn session over labor day weekend. Sweet little Grace was just 10 days old here! I loved getting to know this family during our few hours together and our session just flew by as we talked of their first week as a family of three (5 if you count their cute cats!), living in DC, and a shared love of college football. Incorporating little personal touches (like those UNC booties!) is something I encourage families to do so the images are even more special.

This was such a beautiful session! I am so honored when a family invites me into their home to capture pictures of their new baby. This session was particularly special as the mother of this sweet baby girl is an old acquaintance from college. Megan and Trevor wanted a mix of styled newborn portraits and lifestyle images. I love combining the two in my sessions. They also wanted to include their dog Tucker in the session! While the fur babies can be unpredictable, I am a dog lover so this was an exciting challenge for me.

Even their dog Tucker got to be in on the family photo!
